Of All The Heavens

Yes, I admit, I was watching the new Denise Richards reality show while Gabi was still awake.

Sure, there's cussing, but it's always bleeped out. And she has pigs! And kids! So I thought this once would be okay.

Well, I picked the wrong episode for Gabi's initiation to the show. "It's Complicated" indeed.

Gabi: Did her mommy die?

Me: Yes, honey, her mommy died.

Gabi: So she's in Heaven?

Me: Yes, she sure is!

Gabi: Is she in the Heaven at our house, or the one on TV?

Me: Honey, there is only one Heaven. Everyone goes to the same place, no matter where they're from. They go to where Jesus lives.

Gabi: Yes, he lives in the clouds. With the dead people.

And we'll leave it at that for now.

  1. They are SO SMART aren't they?

I love that "Yes, he lives in the clouds. With the dead people."

So cute, and simple logic. I want to live in a child's brain for the day.

  2. I would like to know about this "Heaven at our house". Is there ice cream? And pizza? Massages and facials? Cause that would be heaven at our house...

  3. I love that! Kids are so honest and simple! We have had similar conversations in our house and it is so interesting to see it all through young eyes.

My son used to walk outside and say hello to people in heaven!

  8. My son can't wait to go see God, since my husband has blow up the idea of 'all the toys you ever wanted are in heaven'. Be careful :)

Man kids are smart, aren't they?

  9. I got stuck watching the same episode and only kept it there because I was intrigued that Richards could display more emotion than that vapid dimwit that is her usual self.

It was both heartbreaking and insightful, in a bizarre sort of way. I'm always just a tad uncomfortable watching other people deal with loss.

But I do love Gabi's comment...her last one. That was awesome.
