When Daddy Makes Dinner

What do you get for dinner when you're late getting home from work on Awana Wednesday and will only have 10 minutes once you get there to change and throw everything together before heading back out the door again so you call your husband and tell him he's in charge and needs to have the kid fed and cleaned of all food debris by the time you get home?

Chicken nuggets wrapped in bacon.

I'm guessing this is the daddy version of chicken cordon bleu. Or the quick version. Either way, it was surprisingly good!

Tonight I made Kielbasa Wellington with a side of sauted cauliflower, and I'm kinda missing the chicken nuggets wrapped in bacon.

  2. That sounds SO awesome.

When the Farmer watched the kids I'd come home to discover they were wearing "daddy wear", which meant they were still in their PAJAMAS!!!! Getting them dressed just didn't seem to be a priority for him. HA.

Did you know...yesterday (the first Thursday in November) was National Men Make Dinner day? Lo Gung lucked out - I was already really excited to try a new 'savory pumpkin pie' recipe when I heard the news.

    Next year, though....

  4. My husband used to fry pancakes in huge amounts of oil. My kids still LOVE that.

  13. Seriously, anything wrapped in bacon is good. How else do you think I get my kids to eat so many veggies--when in doubt, add bacon ;)

  14. That's pretty creative. You should have him make dinner every Wednesday and report to us what he comes up with. Tell him no repeats, though, otherwise you'll be having bacon-wrapped chicken nuggets once a week.

But then the kids got fed and no one starved so you have much to be thankful for.

  23. Ok... I'm uber jealous.

To have both pre-packaged chicken nuggets AND bacon available at your fingertips would be like heaven! My kids are craving a little friend chicken... I think I'm going to have to make my own.

  28. Chicken nuggets wrapped in bacon is way better than a hot dog in the microwave (my husbands specialty when the kids were young)

What the hell is kielbasa wellington? I've heard of kielbasi and saurkraut. ?

    Crap, now I'm hungry
