Celery Is My Friend

Since I started on Atkins on Feb 4th (or Feb 7th if you don't count the cupcake days), I've lost 6 pounds!

I'm in total shock. I mean, I've been told over and over again that it would happen, but nothing ever goes according to plan in my world.

Woohoo!!

A funny thing I've noticed is that I don't have to staple my hand to keep myself awake at work anymore. Especially after eating lunch. I used to be so desperate for a nap about an hour after eating that I would walk back and forth in front of the lactation room daring myself to sneak in. I never did it, though. An email from HR went out to the whole company about leaving the lactation rooms for actual lactators, so it looks like someone else had the same idea and got caught. I mean, how humiliating would that be? I'd rather get caught sleeping in my car with drool running down the side of my face. So I would just pace and dream about the bit of sleep I could get if only I was brave and sneaky enough to pull it off.

But now I'm on the right track. I could probably lose more, too, if I laid off the ranch dressing. But that is what's getting me through. That and bacon. Dear Lord, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for bacon.

I'm still looking forward to getting beyond induction so I can have a bit of chocolate. I've heard rumors that high quality dark chocolate is low in carbs! And it just so happens that I know a chocolatier that works in a VERY high end chocolate shop. I'll be hitting her up for a little gift box VERY soon.

    You are doing great!

    I started last week on 3 weeks of low calorie soups. They taste yuckie and it´s really tough... But the results show fast. The next step is the same diet as you, with restrictions at first.
    Let us keep up the good work! :-)
