My Real Life In Pictures

When I heard about the It's Real Life Fest that Farm Fresh was going to host today, where you have to post pictures of your house IN THE CONDITION YOU FOUND IT IN, with no prep and no cheating, I was like, now way am I participating in THAT!

Even McMommy's nudge for all of us to join in couldn't make me change my mind. I mean, my toilet? For the world to see? Farm Fresh had a very specific list, and it was a bit scary.

But then a funny thing happened on my way home from work. I just couldn't stop thinking about it. And I thought about it even more after I got home. And then some more.

And then I suddenly dropped everything and started to frantically run around my house with my camera, scaring my husband and daughter with the kinds of pictures I was taking.

I really don't know what possessed me, but I knew I did want to participate after all, and that I didn't have much time! The day was almost over!

Without further ado.

Almost everything in this baby is organic. Except for the wine. I'll take that any way I can get it. And things like mustard. But I buy organic ketchup without high fructose corn syrup! So that cancels out the regular mustard.

And that big black thing is Gilberto's lunch for tomorrow! I pack it every night. It makes me feel like a good wife.

We clean this up every single night. And by the time I get home from work, it is the mess you see. During the day Gabi changes her clothes at least ten times, and her closet suffers for it.

The bowl is from some S'mores I made. Some sort of oven version that you make with oats.

Doesn't that look yummy?

The best shoes EVER. So comfortable. And for some reason, one of my favorite things about these shoes are the stripes on the inside.

The living room! Sans carpet.

I love it because it has all of my favorite colors and is where we spend most of our time.

See the Wii Fit tucked under the armoire?

Looking to the other side.

That framed picture is one of my favorite art pieces in my house. It's an illuminated manuscript from The Getty, where I used to work.

Swimming, of course.

The laundry room is right off of the kitchen, so we got stackables and made the far wall a pantry. You do what you can when you live in a small space.

Oops? I forgot? Well, this will just have to wait until I lose another 30 pounds.

  1. Those shoes! Love them.

    Seriously? You didn't clean up?

I had to laugh at your intro. Out loud. You're too cute!

I love the pregnant mama/fertility sculpture things you have by your sink--is there a story there?

    Thanks so much for playing!!

  2. Oh and I'll have a couple of those s'mores bars. Please. And a few to go. If you don't mind.
