A New Look Courtesy Of Crayola

Earlier this morning Gabi trotted over to me and showed me her new makeup collection. Which consists of all the new fat crayons she just got.

Gabi: Mommy, this red one is my chapstick, and this pink one is my lipstick! Would you like some?

Me: Oh, yes please!

A little while later, Gabi came back over with the blue and black crayons.

Gabi: Mommy, would you like some lotion? And how about some blush?

Me: Definitely!

I sat there while Gabi applied lotion to my forehead, earlobes, chin and nose. The blush came next, and covered a very wide cheek area.

Well, soon I had to pee. I popped into the downstairs bathroom and left the light off so I wouldn't have to deal with the super loud fan.

When I got up to wash my hands and saw my face in the reflection, I did a double take. Was there something on my face?

I turned on the light, and sure enough, there was red, pink, blue and black crayon all over my face.

No wonder Gabi was so excited during the application process! Luckily, easy on, easy off.

But it leaves me wondering what the heck are in these jumbo crayons! Crayolas aren't supposed to do that, right?

It was a very colorful way to start the 4th!

In addition to my makeover, we are also celebrating by baking huge amounts of sweets and staying in the house all weekend to eat them all. I might go out and buy some sparklers to add a festive flair.

So, yeah, induction has been put off until Monday. More on that at a later date.

Happy 4th of July!!

  2. I'm sure your makeover was much cheaper than at a department store... Just think of what you would have spent! Gotta love Crayola for their washable invention.

  3. Oh my good heavens. I think you may have gotten off light! My sister bought some fat "washable" crayolas for her daughter...a daughter who liked to suck on things. If those crayons you have are the "washable" ones, and if you were to, say, get them wet...the spread of colour would be INSANE. It's like melting an oil pastel. Just warning you. 'cause Green Mouth is cute on a two year old, but not on her mama!

  6. I've discovered the hard way the beauty of wet washable crayons. I wish my two year old had only painted my face.
